The province of Phitsanulok is situated on the banks of the Nan River in the lower northern part of Thailand. The province is located about 377 kilometers from Bangkok. The entire province consists mainly of lowlands, with mountains to the east, are home to lush national parks and waterfalls.

Every year in late January, a festival is held in honor in the temple of Phra Phutthachinarat.
Anotherattractive aspect of the temple is the great pearl inlaid doors, the entrance to the Viharn. It is believed that the doors were manufactured in the late Ayutthaya period around 1756th The temple is also a different picture than Phra Attharot, is known to a standing 8-meter high image of Buddha. Originally, the Pra was Phutthachinarat was housed in a large Viharn, but the roof is no longer there. So, the bronze statue is now in the open air surrounded by the great pillars of the collapsed Viharn.
